Right below the campsite, the burn zone from two years ago started. There are already flowers and grasses growing in but it’s pretty desolate.

There was a cool cloud inversion way off in the distance as the town of Jasper came into view.

Once down in the valley, the trail meandered around some small lakes into town. We (3 other GDTers caught up to me and we went into town together) saw an elk with massive antlers

Once in town, it was time for lunch and then time to check in at the hostel and shower. Best food and shower ever!
